Rosslare and the surrounding area is a treasure trove of places to see and things to do.
Step back in time at the Heritage Park or the Dunbrody Famine ship marvel at the wonder that is the Hook lighthouse or wander around the ancient Viking settlement that is Wexford Town.
Rest a while and take in the view over Wexford harbour with coffee in the New Opera House
and plan a visit to the nearby wildfowl reserve. A stroll around the ancestral home of the
Esmonde family, Johnstown castle is always spectacular. While you are there don’t forget to visit “The Irish Agricultural Museum”.
Enniscorthy Town which is about 30minutes drive from Rosslare is home to “The National 1798 Rebellion Centre” the “County Museum” which is located in the 13th century Norman Castle and of course no visit to this locality would be complete without seeing the famous battle site of “Vinegar Hill”.
Kilmore Quay Fishing village makes a great launching point for a visit to the world renowned bird sanctuary “The Saltee Islands”.
The Kennedy Homestead and The John F Kennedy Arboretum in nearby New Ross are a delight to visit as is the beautiful gardens found in Kilmokea. Also recommended is a visit to Dunbrody Abbey founded 1175 this is one of the longest Cistercian Churches in Ireland.
