Lollitots Community Childcare, Preschool and Afterschool opened the newly furnished building in July 2007. We are open Monday-Friday from 8.00am to 6.00pm.
It is a community-based childcare setting, which is funded by the Government and organised by a voluntary committee, who have the manager Lisa Delaney and assistant manager Paula Cullen in place to deal with the day to day running.
There are 14 members of staff, the majority of whom are fully qualified and have experience in the childcare sector
- Manager, Assistant manager, 8 full time childcare assistants, 2 part time childcare assistants, Receptionist and Chef
We cater for children aged between 4 months and 12 years of age in 5 different rooms
- Baby Room (4-16 months approx)
- Toddler Room (16 months - 2 years 10 months approx)
- Pre-school Room (2 years 10 months - 4 approx)
- 2 Afterschool rooms - 1 for eating, doing homework and arts and crafts and 1 upstairs room for fun
Each room is fully equiped with materials that are developmentally appropriate for the age range of the children in that room. These include materials that are both educational and fun, which help in the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and linguistic deveopment of each individual child.
We also have an outdoor play area with plenty of room to run around, which has special protective flooring, climbing frames and slides. The children also have access to the communinty playground, football pitch, tennis courts, crazy golf and the beach.
Our chef cooks freshly made dinners daily and also often bakes treats for the children and staff.
Prices are means tested and are based on the income of the household, in conjunction with funding from Pobal and the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.
From January 2010, Lollitots will be offering free pre-school places to those children who are eligible for the ECCE scheme from the Government.
Lollitots complies with the guidelines of the 1991 Childcare Act and adheres to the Pre-school Regulations set out by the Health Services Executive. Therefore, there are a large number of Policies and Procedures in place, including a Child Protection Policy, a Positive Behaviour Management Policy, a Healthy Eating Policy and many more.
